The Charm of Pulau Kembang

Okay this time, I'm going to explain my trip visiting Pulau Kembang.

At first I thought Pulau Kembang is an island in which there are various types of flowers. Apparently Pulau Kembang is an ape kingdom because there are hundreds or even thousands of apes, and supposedly according to the myth of locals there is a very large ape that is called the king ofthe apes. But not only monkeys, if you are lucky you can meet with Bekantan, the type of long-tailed monkeys that have a sharp nose with a yellowish color that is a typical animal island of Borneo. Unfortunately in this my trip I didn't find it.

Oke Check it out...

On Sunday, my friends and I visited Pulau Kembang. To go to Pulau Kembang you can go through some access there, among which most often passed by tourists through: Siring Sungai Martapura and Kampung Muara Kuin.
If we used Siring Sungai Martapura route. You can rent a boat who is park every day there, if the usual days a little quiet so passengers usually rent it not individual but each boat with cost approximately 300.000/boat. But if you went to Pulau Kembang on holidays. Like my trip. Usually many tourists who want to go there, so you can only pay 35.000/person if the passengers at least 12 people, we are directly in the destination. But this my trip one of my grandfather's friend had a boat to drive us there. Length of trip to Pulau Kembang approximately 1 hour, during the journey you will see the beauty of the Martapura River and Barito River are famous, people living around the river along with some boats deliberately parked on the river Barito.

After we got to the pier of Pulau Kembang. We directly in the greeting dozens of apes ready to attack our boar to raid the food that in our boat. Usually the most widely in the assault is the type of fruit, especially bananas, so if you isn't afraid, you can bring the banana there, well, let's just think of it as a souvenir for apes there, but if you still afraid of the monkeys don't have to bring anything, so in order that not in the same deck of the apes there.

Entrance to the resort of Pulau Kembang is quite cheap, only Rp.7.500/person (for local tourists) we are able to enter and interact directly with hundreds of monkeys there. Because on this trip my friends and I are led by our Abi so we have already collected money for this trip expenses. To surround Pulau Kembang, there has been provided a bridge, because the land is mostly swamp so that it couldn't pass. After going inside we will be greeted by 2 statues of a white monkey (hanoman) and like a small temple in use for a place of pilgrimage for ethnic Chinese (based on history they believe there where buried their ancestors).
Actually there are no apes to attack the visitors, no one biting or scratching and they are not afraid of visitors, but usually visitors there who are afraid of the monkeys because the numbers are very much and in groups make feelings of anxiety, maybe because we aren't familiar with monkeys there. But for visitors who are afraid of the monkeys there. You don't worry, because there are also officers who are ready accompany during your tour there, they will protect us if there are apes that will approach. They also while selling snacks in the form of peanuts that visitors usually buy the snack and given to the apes there. For the accompanying officers they are usually given voluntarily only as wages. The exciting experience is certain when my friends and I can interact directly, chatting with the monkeys in the wild while feeding them, making us feel as if feeding our own pets. But when I was chatting I was almost scratched by the mother of a monkey who was there because I interrupted her son. hehe...

Okay enough for this trip ... Wait for my next trip
